Perfect Guacamole

Happy national dog day!!! And a big shout out to my 2 year old German Shepherd pup Kaya. We got Kaya almost 2 years ago and she is our little bundle of joy! I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. Every morning I wake up we both eat breakfast and then we go on a walk. It’s true “dogs are mans best friend”, getting a dog has truly brought so much joy into my life. She makes me laugh when I cry, sits with me when I’m sick, and is there literally no matter what.

Unfortunately, today was too hot to take her to the dog park, it’s 102 degrees today, YIKES! But she got her puppy ice cream for breakfast today. With all this hot weather a great snack is guacamole! I LOVE avocados! and I LOVE guac! this is again a really simple recipe that you can whip up quick and snack on all day. I hope that you enjoy the recipe!

Guacamole

Ingredients

  • 3 avocados
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced (less if you don’t like spice, more if you love spice)
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp fresh cilantro, minced
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Directions

  1. Scoop out the 2 ripe avocados into a medium sized mixing bowl, and mash just a little.
  2. Add the red onion, jalapeno, lime juice, cilantro, and garlic salt and continue to mash until you get the consistency you like, I like mine a little chunky.

(notes: the bet way to tell if an avocado is ripe is by removing the stem, if it is easy to remove and you have a green color your avocado it perfecty ripe. If it is brown it is over ripe, and if it is hard to remove and bright green its not quite ripe enough)
