Pickled Red Onion

Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp pepper

Directions

  1. Add the sliced onions into a one quart mason jar, you can pack them down!
  2. In a small sauce pan, over medium heat, bring the remaining ingredients to a simmer. Once you reach a simmer remove from the heat and carefully pour into the mason jar until all the onions are covered.
  3. Let them cool out on the counter and then you can refrigerate, they will be good for about a month!
